How to add Fair Dinkum Shop-Share to your device

Apple only allows home-screen installs from Safari, so start there even if Chrome is your usual browser.

1. 1Open shop-share.com.au in Safari (it must be Safari, not Chrome, on iPhone or iPad).
2. 2Tap the Share button — the square with the arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen.
3. 3Scroll down the share sheet and tap 'Add to Home Screen'.
4. 4Give it a name (Shop-Share works nicely) and tap 'Add'.
5. 5The icon now sits on your home screen and opens full screen, without the browser bars.

2. 2Tap the three-dot menu at the top right.
3. 3Tap 'Install app' or 'Add to Home screen' — whichever your version of Chrome shows.
4. 4Confirm with 'Install'. Android may also pop up its own install banner: tapping that does the same job.
5. 5Find the icon in your app drawer and on your home screen, just like any other app.

2. 2Look for the small install icon in the address bar (a screen with a downward arrow).
3. 3Click it, then click 'Install'.
4. 4Shop-Share opens in its own window and can be pinned to your taskbar or dock.

Open the installed app, sign in, then go to Settings → Notifications and allow notifications when your device asks. You'll then get the 8am reminder for jobs and chores due that day, plus alerts for upcoming activities. Set your state in Settings so the timing matches your local time zone.

Notifications work from the installed app on the published site. If you're still browsing inside a preview window, your device won't offer the install or notification prompts.

Shop-Share is only as good as the people in it. Invite your household from the household page, then send them this page — once each person has the icon on their phone, added items, ticked-off groceries and chore reminders show up for everyone instantly.

• On iPhone, double-check you're in Safari — Chrome and Firefox on iOS hide 'Add to Home Screen'.
• Make sure you're on shop-share.com.au and not an old bookmark.
• If it's already installed, the browser hides the option — check your home screen or app drawer first.
• Private/incognito windows don't offer installation. Open a normal tab.
